
PORT ST. LUCIE — April is National Donate Life Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation. In support of this initiative, the St. Lucie Mets hosted their third annual «Make the Save, Save a Life» home game, honoring 35 donor families.
Prior to the game, family members of donors participated in a poignant flag-raising ceremony for Donate Life.Then, the St. Lucie Mets partnered with Legacy Donor Services Foundation to pay tribute to these families with a heartfelt ceremony on the field, featuring a special message and images of their loved ones displayed on the jumbotron.
Miss Florida, Casana Fink, who has become a passionate advocate for organ donation following her father’s liver transplant, had the honor of throwing the first pitch. Also present was Gabe, a young boy who previously threw the first pitch last year and has since received a heart transplant himself.
